Actor / writer / emo puppet
Brently Heilbron is an actor, writer, musician, and Moth Mainstage storyteller based in Austin, Texas.
As a musician and songwriter, Brently performed in his own NPR Tiny Desk Concert with the world’s only emo puppet band, Fragile Rock—a multiple-time official SXSW showcase act.
On screen, Brently has appeared in The Leftovers and Friday Night Lights, and served as producer, writer, and host of the PBS comedy series Stand Up Empire. He can also be seen in Robert Rodriguez’s We Can Be Heroes, one of Netflix’s most streamed films of all time, and previously collaborated with Rodriguez on his experimental feature Red 11.
In 2023, Brently co-founded Tin Pan Pally with his wife, Elle Mahoney—a music publishing and production company specializing in original musicals, beginning with their inaugural show, Young Greg Abbott.
Brently lives in the queso capital of the world, Austin, Texas.
